Unfortunately, it’s that time of year again. The days are getting a bit shorter, the nights longer, and the water much colder. But, as we pack up for the coming months, we can’t help but reminisce about our wonderful summer of 2016.
It was hot. Really, really, super duper hot. Fortunately for us, and the thousands of guests that took the short drive up to Puslinch, Ontario, our five-acre quarry lake was just the perfect solution.
You would be hard pressed to find a summer day without hundreds of kids (who are we kidding, grown ups too!) flying down our 200-foot water slide or jumping from the collection of quarry water toys. For the little tykes, the ones not brave enough to take the leap…yet…our 3,4000 square foot splash pad and kiddie pool did the trick.
That wasn’t all either!
After soaking up the sun, and splashing around for a few hours, hundreds of park goers would routinely test out their endurance. With the Olympics in full swing, park goers were motivated to create their own moments across our many skateboard ramps, soccer fields, volleyball and basketball courts. The action was non-stop!
Of course, a day of swimming, diving and shooting hoops helped build up quite the appetite. Our Water Park Grill, located in a central vicinity to all amenities, was busy all day churning out mouth-watering burgers, fries and our newest specialty, the Belgian Waffle Sundae.
Once the sun sets, families casually retreat back to their seasonal sites, overnight RV’s, cabins or tents. Each and every lot is a spacious retreat for the entire family and a good marshmallow roasting fire. It’s on summer nights like these when we have to remind ourselves that we aren’t somewhere in the Muskokas, but a thirty minute drive from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area.
This summer was one for the books. We made a ton of new friends, and shared laughs with all the old ones. Closing up shop for the summer is always a bit sad, but we know that we will be seeing everyone again soon.
So until then!
